About Me
My name is Weston Koyama, and I am a public defense attorney, technology enthusiast, and someone who believes deeply in protecting other people when the stakes are highest.
In my professional life, I work as a lawyer representing people who are often at their most vulnerable. That work has shaped how I see the world. It has taught me that systems can fail, that crisis can come suddenly, and that preparation matters. It has also taught me that every human life has value and deserves dignity, protection, and a real chance to survive difficult circumstances.
Outside of law, I have a longstanding interest in technology, infrastructure, and practical problem-solving. I enjoy thinking about how systems work, how they fail, and how they can be built more resiliently. That mindset is part of what inspired PDX Bunker.
PDX Bunker began partly as a tongue-in-cheek idea, but it comes from a sincere place. I am strongly opposed to nuclear warfare and the destruction it would bring to innocent people, families, and communities. At the same time, I believe that if the world becomes more dangerous, it is reasonable to think seriously about preparedness and survival. This project reflects both of those beliefs: opposition to catastrophe, and determination to protect the people I care about.
My hope is to build something that is practical, thoughtful, and grounded in the idea that protecting family and friends is one of the most basic human responsibilities. Whether PDX Bunker remains a bold concept or grows into a real-world project, it reflects a part of who I am: someone who wants to use law, technology, and planning to help people stay safe in an uncertain world.
